When Delta Chrissy got his first proof, May 2002, not many people noticed him. More than a year later, and Delta Chrissy has become one of the most popular bulls in the Holland Genetics line-up. He gained _83 DPS by improving both his production and durability scores. Chrissy is a product of two successful Holland Genetics programs: Etazon and Delta. His dam was imported from the United States as an embryo through the Etazon program, where top US cows were purchased or contracted and embryos were shipped to the Netherlands to develop good cow families for breeding top class bulls. Chrissy’s dam Etazon Frisbee was the result of the purchase of the very impressive, high yielding Cleitus daughter E-Z-Acres Cleitus Amotion EX90, who was from a Bell dam. She was flushed and many embryos were shipped to the Netherlands where the resulting females were evaluated in the Delta Nucleus herd. With hindsight Etazon Frisbee, resulting from a flush of Amotion to Mascot, is probably one of the best cows ever evaluated at Delta. In her first lactation she gave 2.01 305d 10,451kgM 3.32%F 3.47%P and classified VG86 (VG87-Mamm, VG85-L&F. Currently she has three proven sons ranking in the top 100 DPS list. Besides Delta Chrissy there is Zandenburger Royal son Delta Cassis, Frisbee’s highest ranking son, who unfortunately died before he returned with a proof. His limited semen supply will be used by Holland Genetics to breed the next generation of bulls. Delta Chrissy, Frisbee’s second highest son is by Holim Uppsala, a Celsius from Holim Kim. |

Etazon Frisbee also had some very good daughters who were successfully evaluated in the Delta Nucleus herd. Two daughters became donors, Delta Blanca VG86 (by Fatal) prod: 2.01 305d 11,049kgM 3.54%F 3.43%P and Delta Caspara VG86 (by Treasure, a full brother to Uppsala) prod: 2.01 305d 9570kgM 4.09%F 3.53%P. A third daughter Delta Charita (by Lord Lily) was sold to the United Kingdom where she was successfully evaluated in the Genus MOET herd. Delta Charita GP83-2yr turned out to be a natural milker doing 14,054kgM 3.54%F 3.47%P in 305 days. She is now one of the highest indexing cows in the United Kingdom. Whatever of their sire, the offspring of Etazon Frisbee share the same characteristics: high yields, high protein and very good type, which is the proof of a very strong brood cow. |

When Chrissy’s daughters were shown for the first time at the CR Delta North Show in January 2003, the press was raving about their qualities and uniformity. Veeteelt Magazine wrote: "Chrissy’s daughters are natural milkers, with tremendous dairy strength and very long udders that are extremely well attached at the front and very high in the rear". This successful display of his daughters made the Dutch dairy farmers aware of his qualities, and the number of inseminations to Chrissy increased dramatically in the following months. Looking at Chrissy’s daughters, they remind you of his excellent granddam E-Z-Acres Cleitus Amotion EX90: robustness, dairy strength, strong udder attachments, and good legs and feet. It is all in the pedigree. |
